  • 1 1/2 cups white beans (from one 15 oz can, drained and rinsed (see notes))
  • 1 cup oats ((gluten-free if needed))
  • 1/2 cup walnuts ((see notes))
  • 1/2 medium onion (chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 3 chia eggs ((3 tbsp ground chia seeds + 1/4 cup water))
  • 1 flat Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp tamari (or soy sauce or coconut aminos)
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 3/4 tsp sea salt (or less/more to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 pinch of cayenne pepper (or more to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds (optional)
