  • 1 pound fresh cherries, stems removed and pitted
  • 1/2 cup cane sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon almond extract* (see notes)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream
  • Slivered Almonds
